Let me take you away someplace,
Where we can be alone.
Someplace far from the bustlng streets,
A place we can call home.
A place free of care and shame and doubt,
And a place where you can be you.
This is the place where I'll say in your ear,
'To you I will always be true.'
I'll cover your eyes with a blindfold,
So that you cannot see.
This secret place we're going.
The place where we will be free.
Let me take you away to my secret place,
So we can be alone.
So I can fevently show you,
Your place in this hidden home.
We'd sit there for hours and point,
At the lazy passing clouds.
We'd listen to the leaves in the breeze-blown tree,
As they made tiny rustling sounds.
Then I'd sit up and look at you,
Into your soft brown eyes.
I would say softly, 'I love you Peach.'
And I'd know i wasn't a lie.
Let me take you away to my quiet place,
So we can love alone.
So you can see what you mean to me,
And finally bring you home.
I'd crouch in front of you closely,
So you can hear my shaking breath.
And I'd watch your eyes look confused as I say,
'I'll not part with you till death.'
I'll say, 'I love you, I aways have.'
Then I'd take your hand in mine.
I'd pull a white box out from behind my back,
Then I'd say, 'Be with me for all time.'
'I've taken you to this special place,'
'So we could be alone.'
'I did it all so I could tell you,'
'How much I love you so.'
You'd look at me in shock and awe,
As I opened the tiny chest.
You'd gasp a the ring, then I'd whisper,
'You only deserve the best.'
You would finally look up at me,
And smile under flowing tears.
You'd kiss me with all the might you had,
And would say, 'I will love you for all my years.'
Let me take you away someplace,
Where we can be alone.
Someplace far from the bustlng streets,
A place we can finally call home.
Where we can be alone.
Someplace far from the bustlng streets,
A place we can call home.

Author notes
My favorite things to write about are things I want to happen to me later in life. I want my proposal to my future wife to be just like this (In some way, shape, or form). I find that imagining things like that makes the more passionate feelings come forward. That's just me though.
And a you can see, I'm a BIG fan of freeverse.

A lovely piece, my best wishes.

beautiful. as a writer who has only ever written of things that have already happened, or things of a purely fictitious nature about a nonexistent character, i'm intrigued by your idea of writing about things that you want to have happen to you. it's like positive thinking in the extreme. this was a lovely piece with excellent flow and rhythm. i loved the hopeful, romantic nature of your work. thank you for this wonderful entry.
