    I have a closed window, you closed curtains, luckily isn't in the same house, or would be very dark there!
    Any chance for a skylight?

    Jokes apart, your poem made me think of two different things; one is about senility, the other is about putting a past of bad memories in off your mind, or even losing the light, not by choice...
