On a carousel of twisted dream
I see a river drown
deep inside it's sorrow
a cherub with a frown.
She thought she was an angel
inside a crystal ball
but smoke of non existence
from nowhere, made her fall.
A violin of heart strings
played a sad refrain
a phantom from her memory
haunted her again.
Hollow prayers inside her heart
clenched into a fist
her quest to seek redemption
for Sunday's she had missed.
Burgundy inside a glass
lingered on her lips
she touched them oh so softly
with crystal fingertips.
She read the word bewilder
from a bible on her chest
with the key to self acceptance
she laid herself to rest.

whooa! This is a wonderful entry! I love
your take on the word bank and the rhyme
was not forced, but almost elegant. Thank
you so much for this. Love, Lane
