They walk a rutted road
In a world full of dust devils
blowing in the wind.
Together they are one,
thus indestructible
full of youth and fire
Dragging a wagon behind them
brimming with sugar cane.
Each with a small cane
in sticky hands.
They live life
without a care
as full as they can live it.
Poor and yet
they see a world
full of promise.
Full of dreams
they can touch
amongst the stars.

This was wonderful.
I think most people don't realize how hard so many children have it.
and yet, they keep hope alive, and are happy for the little things they have, unlike some who have it all, and are never happy nor hopeful.

Wow! This is powerful in its message. To see someone happy despite having so little, reminds one to appreciate everything even more. Congratulations on your well deserved gold! Blessings, Patty
