I’m so thankful
You wouldn’t think it if you heard my story,
as it’s often been quite gory, but
I am so thankful..
..for this adventure of a life, my unbelievable luck,
for my brain my curiosity my passion,
for hard times that’ve taught me compassion.
I feel blessed
During a rocky start , lived in homes dysfunctional
I had a steady friend, discovered near the river
in the woods of the world of words , come to deliver
the news that I can take it all and transform it.
I see the way my life might’ve been,
if not for the accident of birth
in a country that fights to recognize my worth.
I could had it much worse
Oh sprite Oh imp My muse
To refuge in stories, in heralding past glories
Lose oneself in songs of others who have been wronged
Take it make it ours; help me to heal through lyrical song

the songbird thanks us every day
filling the air with beauty and light
and the touch of sounds that may
carry us to greater reach and sight
for the lost songs are still and sad
for love and joy... we might have had

You keep on singing from that sweet, sweet soul Li, I hear you, things weren't always right but they never tempted you to do wrong, nb maybe "have" is missing between could and had? You know, your lyrics are pure and they dance the word and the way, compassion colours your soul hon, and that's why you are whole, my special songstress!
