in soft recliner chair
the dentist smiles

Either the dentist is smiling at his relaxing evening or his unrelaxed patient! Sounds like a write from one who knows

Well-written.

Once I fell asleep while waiting for anesthesia start to work.

Your haiku has a very light feel and a solid image. Well done

In this haiku I see a twist, that the dentist is the one putting his feet up...and in his recliner of course. I wonder if he sees the parallel, the dentist I mean?

I wonder if the wife brings him a drink and says, "Open wide?"
Thanks a lot for entering the contest.
