Quietly shy this lady sits to focus on the day,
within her sapphire eyes a hidden charm,
a moment to reflect upon emotions kept at bay,
to move would cause unspeakable alarm.
Nervous fingers brush against the diamond on her hand,
but she must not betray her happiness,
a soft elusive smile for just one moment is unplanned,
still captured in a depth of loveliness.

A lovely tribute to your Mum and she was a nice looking young woman too. How different things were then, such codes of the right way to behave for a young lady. You have captured those "proper" times and your Mum's quiet joy.

Thank you so much, Hilly.
This poem and the photo of your mother
are both treasures. Love, Lane
