Dear Lord I humbly send this prayer
That peace throughout the world we'll share
When first You came to bear God's gifts
Of peace and love the world to lift
A new day dawned with promise rare.
But sadly many do not care
I ask you please make then aware
It seems right now the world's adrift
Please let them know...
There's peace and love enough to share
It's not too late to make repairs
I pray Your teachings mend the rift
Between all nations, closely drift
Each day Your love I do declare

Rondeau (my first)
A Rondeau is a French form, 15 lines long, consisting of three stanzas: a quintet, a quatrain, and a
sestet with a rhyme scheme as follows: aabba aabR aabbaR. Lines 9 and 15 are short - a
refrain (R) consisting of a phrase taken from line one. The other lines are longer (but all of the
same metrical length) (8 syllables)
