So that she will know these few and simple things...
That I loved her before I met her
That I strove to honor her even though I did not know her
That I wrote her letters without knowing her address
That I wondered of her while guarding my heart from temptation
That I asked God to greet her each morning for me
That I made a vow for both her sake and my Lord's
That I redefined my understanding of beauty in order to love her more
That I missed her without knowing her
That I prayed for her without being able to see her face in my mind
That I fought valiantly against the fiery blood of my youth to protect her place in my heart
That I wept at my failures in trying to do all these things...
...and that I loved my God and my Savior both first and more.
And was only then able to love her.
Until then,
Until that day,
Be safe and pray
To a God and a Savior that you love
more than me,
Until that day dear heart,
When I will finally see
you.
Bring a tissue
I'm not as tough as I look.
Blessings,
Yours
