My wind, and my fate.

Can you feel that wind,
That summer nights breeze?
It carried me so far, way back when.
Back when time would freeze.

Those were the days,
The days before you were swept away.
I remember those days,
For they had people jealous, and oh so amazed.

I can see the clouds,
Coming with dark skies.
I can see those clouds,
And I can hear their cries.

I can feel that wind,
How about you?
I can feel that wind,
It says that you are untrue?

On these cliffs,
The cliffs of sanity's edge,
I hear the song,
The song of the dead.

They beg me to jump,
And jump I will not.
They plea for me to join them,
But I refuse to rot.

How many times have we met?
Not many I suppose,
Not many yet,
But that can change, if your heart chooses to grow.

Meet me down,
Down yonder the break.
Meet me in town,
Just yonder the lake.

I know the wind,
And it will carry you.
I have a friend,
And she flies so smooth.

Will you accept?
I hope you will.
Or do you object?
For I can wait, here in the chill.

The wind, it takes me
So far back in time.
It reminds me,
Reminds me of our prime.

But we grow old,
And here I wait.
For my spot I will hold,
Hold for you, my fate.

This piece holds a very smooth expression of hope within, leaning along the contour of reminiscence. A thoughtful write. Thank you for your entry!
