Something’s rocking in the bough
along the night wind’s song
A warm and pumping heart turned cold
too small to hide for long.
Is this the child whose harness
the mother wishes free
A sense of less belonging
that only shadows see?
Where are all the captured smiles
and why are there not more?
Besides what the camera shows
in moments right before.
Be loosed, oh, conscience spirit
so that the fog of breath
Will rouse as soon as she
can tell of baby’s death.
It’s better that there be a shock
a monster down the hall
For peace won’t come if hidden
no, never come at all.
Author notes
Pushing aside the media, I'm so very concerned about our Caylee Anthony, and the parent who conceals a once beating heart that was once linked to hers.

TOUCHING
Well, I never understood how a mother could silence her own childs life. It's truly heartbreaking to know that there are woman out there that do not know how to cherish the life that they created. How can you not fall in love forever with that child that you carried within your own womb. Losing a child would be like losing myself.

This case is too sad and agonizing to contemplate ...
it severed my mother heart.
You have truly a gift to write about such, Dianne. Usually I am so overcome with emotions, I cannot be poetic about trauma.
Love to you.

Great write. This most certainly is a strange case -- Caylee's mother seems to have some guilty knowledge that she has not shared; but is she protecting herself or someone else? The truth has an interesting way of finding a voice even in the most complex circumstances.
Excellent write.

Something very wrong with this picture, and it's apparent to all but the mother. You've eluded to the missed love benefit of this messed up woman's mind quite well in this. How it's even possible to put anything before ones child in love and nurtured enjoyment is beyond comprehendible.Strong write of maternal right here.

This year, I've dealt into the process learning the answer by 'deduction' . Courts of law do not, however, it should develop a means of prosecution by the lack of average evidence. Yes, this woman needs to have her conscience pricked, if at least not by guilt of murder, by strength of parental connection.
Thank you for your comment on a most sobering subject matter.
