Serenity Gaze

Dark halls are all I'd known
When my mind wandered into the abyss alone
Hidden passengers rode into my mind
There was nothing I could ever let them find
Felt for the scratches on the walls unseen
Left there 'cause they once guided me

Yet in that place devoid of the light
I dreamed one day to regain my sight
Settled with no path, blind in the fray
Then her glimmer in the distance caused me to stray
It danced in my eyes gliding through my soul
Healed my wounds and made me whole

The noise inside my head
Replaced by her radiant hope instead
Gently begins to surround my heart
And makes me believe in her from the start
She accepted the scars I have earned
And would hold my hand as I burned

Now it all falls away
Except those eyes that make me pray
Candlelights in dance, flames in the night
Lighting the way to what feels so right
Just the beginning to all our days
