Black Friday!

Storms of senseless souls

trample a Wal-Mart worker to death to get the sale.

Caving doors off hinges, where others paid prices of injuries,

and came inches from their eternal slumber.

That's it, you thought I waited up all night...huh...

so you can steal the deal from me?

No way people, I won!!!

I received my flat screen T.V. before they were sold out.

All it took was a little aggressiveness. (And someone's Life)

But it was all worth it, right???

You'd think Walmart might want to give the 103 year old greeter the day off on black Friday, and as for the shoppers doing the trampling... I think every retail outfit and shopping center should have strategically placed snipers throughout.

If you can't shop and behave like a human being, then you should be put down like a rabid animal.

It's not extreme... it's the way it needs to be.

A deal is great, but anyone who has to resort to pushing and shoving and getting into shouting matches over it is a worthless piece of sh*t in my eye.

    Kill 'em all.

Holy Cow!!! I had to click and watch the video before I commented. Even my fiance watched it, we were in awe. We did go shopping yesterday, but at a decent time. We waited until later, so maybe it wouldn't be so crazy...we weren't after all the big time electronics or anything though. I still, going at about 9am... got backed into by a big ol' guy (rather aggressively) and I was instantly ready to go. I had to work on black friday when I worked at wal-mart years ago. That was scary!!!

Thanks for penning this, my friend.
I hadn't known about that man, if you hadn't written this. Thank you.
    Awesome job.

Mankind's greed is a murderous trait. It demands lives to be satisfied. The production of corporate and consumer goods are a blessing to few and a death sentence to many from the instant the basic materials are retrieved from the earth's soil, via the slave labour to produce, transport and distribute the goods to the doors of the Wal-Mart stores. There is no limit to human avarice. Thank you for creating and sharing this piece that accurately points to our shameful conduct.

my dearest brother your words touch my heart as i know the sadness that wreaks of the coldness of some ppl just for a sale with no consideration of a person's life. in CA sadly 2 ppl were also killed in a shooting in a toys r us on black friday. what tears at the heart is how so many have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas of His wondrous Love and sharing that message with family and friends that mean so much to us. well done and many loving blessings always xxxxxx Love your sis-Star

I heard about that. It's terrible how crazy people will go for something so stupid. A woman also had a mis-carrige over something like that today. Great write, though. It had irony and rhythm.

    Excellent

I gotta admit I rarily read poetry anymore now because I am so busy with life stuff but I think this is just pathetic and sad the great lengths people go through to one up someone else and well in my opinion black fridays are so damn stupid! you are killin innocent people over mere deals that are litterally 1 time onlys. if I had it myw ay there would never be a black friday and dang nab it I definitely wouldn't allow a crowd to gather like that and Gah im just very strong over this issue. any ways a great write and thanks for the article link.

    This was great.

It's horrible how people just, it's rediculous how people just...It is sickening, extremely, how people can kill over electronics, clothes, etc...

34 years old! Gone, due to selfish, heartless people...2,000 of them? Hmm.

Very powerful write here, wonderfully written from the heart.

I am stunned - watched the video to be sure I understood the entire situation. We are becoming savages - the economy is one reason, but not an excuse. I feel they should end these sales and let people just get what they can. When - EVER - is a bargain worth a human life. I am touched by your poem and your compassion. Bless you for bringing this episode to light.

    So Sad.

The only way I can believe things like this happens is because I have saw it all before, but how I know the pain that comes along with seeing and hearing about it as well. Simply because you have such a compassionate soul, you are in awe at how some people act, and at what cost? This case, someone's life. It's good you make this stuff known, and it only shows how much you wish others would wake up and see that nothing is worth this ultimate price over a good deal. Thanks for sharing, and know you are loved.
