Long before, tears sank in frosted vials,
and trifles were hidden behind dim doors.
Happiness was lost within dresser drawers,
while white porcelain masks hid bashful smiles.
In paper boats broken off of the shores
memories in lockets cast out to sea,
sailing on waves hidden from eyes they flee
through blue vastness strung together it soars.
Images reflected in cups of tea,
hearts flash open behind lacey silk sheets,
and clever pale masks hide small shy smiles.
Feelings and passions in hallways fun free
hidden with darkness from life on the streets,
and memories in lockets sail for miles.
(Hearts flash open behind lacey silk sheets,
while white porcelain masks hide bashful smiles.
And memories in lockets sail for miles,
hidden with darkness from life on the streets.)
Author notes
This form is based on an Italian sonnet
with a modified rhyme and length
I gave it an intertwining rhyme and an extra stanza for the sake of receptiveness at the end.

Some sad, some beautiful memories here captured in here... I liked how you finished this piece, though it's very sad if this is truly about how life has been for you. I found the background colour hard to read but otherwise nice. Interestingly done!
