Christmas Day

A girl lays curled up in her mother's protective arms

Humming along to Silver Bells

Enjoying here moment of total bliss

A smile spread across the girl's sweet face

She hugged her fuzzy new teddy bear tightly in her arms

Recounting the day silently in her mind

A fresh layer of snow blanketing the yard

The smell of freshly baked cookies wafting up the stairs

the joy of opening the presents under the Christmas Tree

Out in the yard a squirell scampers up a tall tree

A rabbit hops up onto the deck, in hopes of getting a juicy carrot

Building a snowman with her dad

And now this curling up on the couch and slowly drifting off to sleep

Surely nothing could ruin this day!

It's a solid piece. You do have a few spelling errors, though.

    Awwwww

This is so cute, and shows warm family traditions that most families don't have any more. Here's hoping that you and yours, and friends too, have the merriest of Christmases, like in this poem. If there were more than 3 smiley guys I would give them to you. This rates not only the 3 smiley guys, but also a perfect 10. Thank you for sharing this warm and wonderful poem of Christmas.

    Love & hugs,
    Barbara
