Eden

Simply being,

Adam and Eve

before the fall of man.

Void of intrusion of thought,

fear and doubt

were not alive and well.

In step with God

brought might

of tranquil peace.

No wants or needs

were present,

for God knows all.

Why leave paradise?

Naive children

never knowing deception,

embraced and considered;

opening mind to doubt,

welcomed fear.

Never walking without God,

unaware of pain.

God given gift, to create

was tool of destruction

built upon lies,

accepted by children.

Simple children,

once accepting:

walked out of step with creator.

Stumbling, creating

an unbalanced

imperfect world,

spiraling cycle.

Within, a flicker

of peace that leads to Eden.

Chasing the footsteps

of God,

clinging

to the deceptive mind.

against the current

walks humanity,

unable to find paradise.

just my point of view, but had there been no first sin humankind would only take God for granted. It was by design that man fell from grace

    Powerful elevating write

Yes this journey of life is against the current because of our free will but that's a blessing. Adam and Eve slipped because imbalance had to be imperfection had to be seeking had to be humanity has to find.
These are thoughts of the godly on earth...Freedom to think is our right these thoughts make one explore our role today in this world of repetition to grow from child to mature. Thank you for sharing many will see beyond the box because of this write i believe. Peace and blessings... Yes I see no awkwardness outwardly In my overstanding this is what it is.

I think Paradise was a metaphorical meaning for spiritual perfection at the time of Adam
Yet his name was not Adam till he was casted down to Earth from Paradise
It can be a deep subject  so I leave it to that.
You done well in your write from your point of view
    Thank you for entering

    I know why!

Captivating poem. I also have had an idea for a poem on Adam and eve but with the answer. It is in the world today...Forbidden fruit. The want for the thing we can not have. I am learning how you think...some. Enjoyed.

To think the first Adam was deceived after Eve was when everything that they could have was all Eden, so much what we learn today as descendants of that sin in the Garden...thought provoking...blessings sister!

Paradise was lost by decpetion and naive' of both
Now we live in a world full of man made elements
good and bad while some continue to fail to recognize the difference!
    Good Luck in this contest.
