A musky flower
Warmth, collapsed inside:
Arms, legs, and fingers intermingling
A statue made of two bodies interlocking
(Melting heavy sweat, rough skin against soft cheeks,
His arm around my waist, protecting)
It was like an Art undiscovered
“I dance, just not in big crowds” He said
This thing between us was fluttering
Teddy bear hug, slow dance
When our hands, arms, swimming together through the dance floor
Made their connection, it was a mysterious but beautiful waltz
“You like Art?” He asked
3am and waiting on nothing
He brushed my hair out of my face
Dreams realized together
Who knows?
He smelled of cigarettes and simple cologne
A new smell that made me cling
Maybe it reminded of Paris or something more homeward
But it was intoxicating
“We should go to the Met someday…”
And I hoped against all the memories and lessons,
Stored up and resting on my heart
Maybe this one would come back….
Please tell me what you think

"Art undiscovered." Be careful...I may become a fan of your works!
Nice job! -

After one loss when seeking another to replace we seek
at least a piece of what was lost but also a smidgen
of new too. By adding the "familiar" it makes the new
chance less frighting and the "new" gives a sense of
unknown, thereby encouraging that maybe this time
it can be different.
Sometimes we grow more through our losses than
we do through the "keeper"...
Happy Holidays...
Hugs...Eddy

Hey Leigh~ I like this poem a lot. It has a lot of good emotion in it. Lines 18-21 have really good description in them. Keep up the good work and I hope you had a great Thanksgiving
