Consolation prize

I don’t quite think that it was
just the green-eyed monster pulling the string
there had to be something there
when you
kissed me

and ran to comfort her...

I’m sure it was worth it

why buy the cow when
she spits out poetry
spiked with lies

just as I would gold...

I am not her

Author notes

just admit you really wanted her
not me..
bleh

i really dont know where this came out of

Sad, bitter, heartbroken. Hm...your wording in this piece was lovely.
'I don’t quite think that it was
just the green-eyed monster pulling the string
there had to be something there
    when you
    kissed me'
This conjures up kind of a spooky image...because it's so relatable and common.
Then he runs to the other girl soon as she's hurt
    "oh, we're just friends."
maybe he even means it, but that doesn't change the fact that HE WANTS HER. not you. Never expierienced this myself, but I can sympathize.
    I also love your ending.
    'I am not her.'
    And we never will be....
Great poem, srry about the novel.
