In the stable

Staring in the moonlit sky she began to talk

Sweet baby boy do You know who your daddy is

Do You know your name, why are You here

When You live out there can You see the stars

A tear dropped from her chin to His the earth still

Holding the baby next to her face to the rythmn of his heart

Rubbing His soft little head and delicate cheek

All the world silent to the breath of God sleeping

The infant on her small lap her long hair draping

How long will He be testing, would He save the world

In inexperienced arms wrapped in a warm blanket

Humming Him a holy song alone in the darkness

Without a sound the Son of the Holy Spirit slept

In the stable with a choir of angels hovering

Musing after His heart humble in the glory of God

In His eyes the deepest well of His soul in a bright moon

John 1: 1, 14; Phil 3: 9; Luc 2

Mary the daughter of Heli belonged to the Israelite tribe of Judah. The first mention of her in the Bible connected her to an extraordinary event. An angel visited her and said "Good day highly favored one, Jehovah is with you". At first Mary was disturbed and "began to reason out what sort of greeting this might be". So the angel told her that she had been chosed for the amazing and extremely serious assignment of conceiving, bearing and raising God's Son (Luke 1: 26-33) What a responsibility placed on the shoulders on this young unmarried woman! (Deut. 22: 20-24) Mary's strong faith enabled her to submit to the will of her God Jehovah. Mary was willing to face the challenges because she value the spiritual privilege she had been offered. (Luke 1: 38)

In these hard times and critical moments of her life Mary surely poured her heart out to Jehovah trusting and convinced that He would care for her and her baby. Later shepherds arrived eager to see the baby reporting that angels had called this child "a Savior who is Christ the Lord." (Luke 2: 11, 16-19) Mary faced hardships including poverty and a forced flight from her homeland an angel telling to flee to Egypt. (Mat. 2: 13-15) Egypt hosted a large Jewish community so Mary and Joseph may have been able to live among their own people.

The four Gospels revealed that they were too poor to make the required offering to Jehovah in the temple except a pair of turtledoves. (Luke 2: 22-24) Undoubtedly spiritual concerns were their priority and family environment. (Deut. 6: 6,7) Apart the birth and infancy of Jesus Mary is mentioned in little in the Gospels. Yet we know that Mary and Joseph had at least six other children both sons and daughters, Jesus the oldest conceived with Jehovah Holy Spirit since she was a virgin, his half-brothers James, Joseph, Simon, Judas (Mat. 13: 54-56; 12: 46, 47) "This is the carpenter the son of Mary and the brother of James and Joseph and Judas and Simon, is it not? And his sisters are here with us, are they not?" (Mark 6: 3)

Mary was a spiritually-minded person and a fine example. She worked hard and selflessly to fulfill the Scriptural obligations and was a devoted wife. She showed great patience, endurance and humility! Mary worshipped God together with her husband and children strenghtening and unifying the family.

God bless!
