I Am Jack

I am Jack's nicotine addiction
Without me Jack will grow so old his children will ignore him
His wife will die before him
And he will loose control over his bladder and bowels

I am Jack's love for bourbon
Without me Jack would never have met the woman he married
He would have never forgotten the condom the night his son was conceived
Or the night his daughters were conceived

I am Jack's taste for pizza and potatoes
Without me Jack would never have seen the waiter
Who had a relationship with him making him accept his bisexuality
And never having another sleepless night

I am Jack's pleasure center of the brain
Without me Jack wouldn't have smiled after a wild night
Jack wouldn't have met the waiter
Jack wouldn't have met his wife
Jack wouldn't have had children before it was too late
Jack wouldn't have died at the pleasant age of 68

I am Jack's kidney
Without me Juliet wouldn't have lived to see her twelfth birthday
And place flowers on the grave of the man who saved her
Every year until she moved away

I am Jack's peaceful soul

I wondered where this was going, and I very much liked where it took me in the end.

"pleasure center of the brain" was my favourite, but I like all of it. Raw and yet touching in the end.

    Thanks for entering

I LOVE IT! Love the humor and love the touching ending. The flow, the images, the contemporary feel to it. One of my favorites.
