Remembering the days
When you and I were two and I was three
The times we spent looking in the windows
How we picked the Christmas treasures
Treasured gifts for you and me
The day were slim but how we could dream
You got a doll, Mother had made
I got new shoes, and you took the old ones
Socks two pairs each, one pink and blue the others white.
New scarfs for about our heads
The pretty quilt to put on our bed
The dinner we had on Christmas day
We were thankful as we played away the day.
Now I wonder where you are
There is someone here I wish it were you
