Crafting poem with pen;
the feel of ink painting
thoughts and images
Letter by letter,
word by word,
cool and silent
Rosy glow
upon a little bird
who flies above
Yellow and brown drooping leaves,
ready to drop from the tree
which did support them
Leaves that have completed providing
nourishment for insects and
kaleidoscopic beauty for mortal eyes
The garden is a study in diversity;
a still life apparently, yet dynamic
Pale yellow clouds pulled thin
as if angels had been making taffy;
pink stars on the orchid tree
Turquoise touch,
swirls of tangerine
in blue marbleized sky
Hibiscus puffed peach,
pointy palmettos,
darkening greens
Silhouettes of trees;
orange clouds,
soft fluorescence
Light gray streamers,
crickets begin to sing,
baby blanket pink
Associations, fleeting, make me think
of the sweetest grandmother
who loved me
And delicate, pretty things
she loved
'Been a while since I've thought about her;
mauve, bright salmon tones in the distance
Later, this night, my mother will tell me
that this was the date of Grandma's passing.

"which did support them" Would have liked to see "which supported them" instead.
but OH! This stanza
"Leaves that have completed providing
nourishment for insects and
kaleidoscopic beauty for mortal eyes"
is amazing. I love the soft voice and tender color you flavor this poem with and your ending paragraph brings it all to personal. An amazing entry. Thank you for this. ~Pamela

The pen in hand,
the softly colored images
and strong memories
all intertwined
by writer so observant,
so painterly with words.
A special treat to immerse the mind
in your soft dscriptions.

Thank you so much.
From time to time, I have suspected 'psychic' types of incidents.

A warm intriguing write filled with an abundance of imagery that takes the reader not only through the sight of your eyes, but the warmth of your heart. One could sense the emotions and thoughts put into this. Best wishes in the contest! Ken IBT
