I was the center of my existence for so long.
I forgot all about you, my lord.
Dwelled so much on my wasted dreams.
Seeking to fulfill the life I desired.
And yet, time is out of my withering grasp.
It’s flying into the air and dissolving into nothingness.
I know in your inner being you’ve not yet
Forsaken your unfaithful servant.
Yet, I know it is too late to ask for forgiveness,
Or seek some little time to undo my carelessness.
Could you spare me some little minutes
Before you snatch my last breaths from my lungs?
Could you, lord of heaven and hell?
Could you spare me a second so I can repel
All the sins I’ve done in a lifetime
With my last little breaths?
Hoping inside my inner self that your mercy
Has not yet abandoned me completely.
That I can still be forgiven by thee
Could you?

noor this is so beautiful, i will share it with my younger ones tonight.I help at my church to prepare children for first confession, and the first thing we teach them is that God is never too busy to listen, and always forgives, if we are truly sorry. So I'm certain you will be ok,
