Blueberry Skies

As I step out into
the indigo highway

I close my eyes
and let the fresh water pearls
make their home on my face

the sultry scent;
revitalizing drops of heaven's dew
dance their way from
palest pillows

the faintest breeze
crawls softly on my skin
showing feelings of those
I cannot see.

Like blueberry skies
your eyes;
seductive like the forest ~

I will enjoy your presence
until you fade away

and pass on
to a new world.

Author notes

I love the rain, and I love personifying the rain. :]

  • Wow, this was absolutely beautiful. I felt like I was part of the scene you described when I was reading this. All of the metaphors and similes were perfect for the poem and didn't seem stressed at all. You really have a way with words! Good luck in the contest!

This was great! The personification, the metaphor as a whole and the imagery was just amazing. The flow was great, and the context was amazing. I loved the word choice as well. Good job and great write. Keep it up.

great imagery. i sense this may have a personal hidden meaning to it all but even if it doesn't, it makes the readers interested and caught, i really enjoyed this write and am looking foward to reading more. rhyming can often seem forced, and without it, you done a great job. nicely written and i hope you keep it up.

i will be off to read some more!

Simply Blandiloquent. With an invigorating atmosphere of both melencholic and upbeat nature, this captivated me! Great work!

A FINE PIECE, TO SAY THE LEAST!

I love the rain, also - and often write about it - about walking in it and about laying in bed listening to it sing a symphony upon my windows. That being said - the title of this piece is what drew me to it - for I have called the sky BLUEBERRY as well as the sea in a few of my poems that I have posted here is the last year or so. BLUEBERRY SKIES, indeed!
    Love & Peace!
    Earl.

This is a beautifully delicate write, Kerri.
The rain, sent to cleanse us of our sins, of our pains and aches.... to let them flow into the gutters, to be forgotten about.
You personify the rain well in this write. It's excellently written.
    Bravo

This is really pretty, and the simplicity of the abstract scheme you've used heghtens the fact; it it very well personified, as it seems like you are speaking to some onw very important to you. Though, judging from your author notes, you were speaking to some one very important to you, it just wasn't exactly a person -_^ This was very enjoyable to read; I myself llove the rain, and it makes me very sad that it hardly ever rains where I live. Thank you for sharing this with us!

The title makes me think as i picture it in my mind I allowed myself the pleasure to linger at the start. The lines flow smoothly as you descriptive expression brings forth a deeper feel while reading. The emotion still raw still feeling the pleasure of this experience as you paint in words this picture. Poetry takes the everyday into an experience and I thank you for this experience. Nicely penned

You've personified it well, almost given it life. There's a certain amount of skill that is required to weave images in a persons mind, words alone are not enough, and while some others can, to actually get the reader to envision exactly what you want takes great amounts of care and precision, something which is quite evident here,

I think this is really the only "quality" comment i've given you despite all the works i've read, and i think your also the only person i've been commenting in months

    Great work angel
