Melt away the wings

Missing image
Can the heat of stargazing really
melt away the wings?
Or else why would a sweet angel
soar away to the far skies?
without even bothering to leave
a word or a sign?
About dreams and perceptions -
we all reserve our rights;
The free fall with these paper wings
was really my best try;
And now while I gather the bitter angry sighs
I wonder why you didn't know
The right answer to all wrong questions
was simply what felt good and what felt right;
Not the rude and cold indifference
that you left behind;
If only you were the angel I thought I saw;
If only the wings were real;
I would have been left with enough life
to resume my wishing upon the stars
though now with a tearful and blurred vision

    Going away... It's like giving up, when someone decides to withdraw the words they once spoke.

    How very sad to lose someone and not know why especially if by choice. Beautiful tribute to who I hope is fictional but may you be so very blessed with Love an Light of Healing.

    I liked the the title, and the tragedy of it all. Also, the way you tied it together, with stargazing at the beginning, and starwishing at the end. So yea, I thought it was good, well written definenetly.

    This poem has such a mournful tone, as if the narrator has lost faith in angels. Sad.

    Hmm, if I were a man of simple emotions, I'd probably cry. Other than that. You'll just have to deal with my congratulations and 3 claps. Possibly a thank you for entering the contest.
