A Hint Of Colour

Missing image
Upon the winter snow he sits
to celebrate the thaw,
knowing now he'll make it
watching Spring unfold with awe.

For he's the sign of season new
light colours on his breast,
a sign that life will now renew
as earth is newly dressed.

Although a speck within the white
a signpost to Spring's coming,
he stirs in nature great delight
beneath, the earth starts humming.

Sweet little bird you do not know
the joy you bring this day,
you are the breath of Spring on show
hint of a new colourful display.

So light and happy, just what's needed to herald Spring. Your choices of words was perfect and the rhyme was amazing as always.

The very best of luck in the contest.

    Love Margaret
