Intertwined

I was ice and you were fire.
Never fated to intertwine,
Until you sauntered
Into my daydreams.

My frigid interior,
You melted with just a smile.
And with every word spoken,
You dissipated my refusals.

The elements collided,
And you disrupted fate.
The moment your lips grazed mine
It was over.

You belong to her.
Not me.

Thank you for entering my contest! I haven't had a chance to reply to any of the poems until now. I loved this piece, from where you say the lovers were never fated to intertwine, to the ending where it is stated to clearly, so painfully clear. "You belong to her. Not me." Wonderful
