The sun is setting behind the hills
going beneath the waves
hiding from the world.
Can you hear the moment when it hits the horizon?
Can you hear the steam
as it melts into the sea
spreading it's blood-light?
Can you feel the air as it cools to a soundless whisper?
Can you see the fish
as they gasp their last breath,
the boiling water killing them?
Can you hear the sun fading away without a trace?
Can you taste the salt on the air
as it is flung towards you
with the force of heat and fire?
Can you see the sea crying out in pain as it takes its burden?
The sun sets at last.
The sea is still once more.
The hills are dark and lonesome.
Did you hear the sigh of the hills as the sun was lost?
Did you hear the sea's cry of pain?
Did you hear the gasping fish?
Did you hear the moment when the sun hit the horizon
winking out of existence second by second...?
No.
