Silent Goodbye

She stared at her reflection in the lake
Her teary sorrowful violet gaze glistening back on the cool dark surface
Threading her fingers through the widening ripples
The trees making soft hushing sounds With their bright pink leaves, soft as velvet
beckoning her to dance with them
Her hands clench at her silk white kimono tight porcelain fists
In the waters reflection she watches as a hawk soars by.
She gracefully jumps up and spreads her creamy arms
Then she starts to twirl her lithe body
In slow languid memorizing movements
Then she slowly stops and watches a pink
Petal glide to the water followed by several more
Follow it creating shivers of tiny ripples on the
Cool glass; she smiles and closes her eyes...
Takes a small tentative step and standing on the lakes surface
She dances
The colorful fish underneath her swim their own erotic dance
As if to keep her from splashing in
She leaps and twirls, her fans swooping the air in her hands
As if wings are what they are
Her arms wrap around her body  As she cranes her neck forward grafefully
Her kimono swishing and clinging here and there in her crevices
She leaps and floats back down
Silken cold water cascades all around her
When the drops unite once again she is gone
And in her place is a magnificent snowy white swan
It's violet eyes glistening with happiness
It lifts its long cloud-like wings and takes
To the skies trailing water that seems to resembles tears
Out of the pink forest creeps out a regal orange tiger
His body like a radiant sunrise
He looks as if he is smiling  as he watches
The swan glide into the setting horizon
Dark violet eyes glistening as he bids
To his daughter a silent farewell

  • Amazing.

I absolutely love the imagery in this piece. I am so glad to read your poetry again; I really missed it. Anyways, the Eastern feel really added a little flare to the piece, and the colors were magnificent. It almost felt like I was looking at a very beautiful wall scroll that told an equally beautiful story.

Anyways, once again, I apologize for my long absence and I'm hoping you forgive me for it.

    Many kudos to you,
    Raven
