Remember the glee of dressing your tree, when you was but a child,
The ohh's and the arr's and the whoops of joy, when the tree had to be styled.
The smell of the tinsel, the feel of the baubles, the pines pricking your fingers,
The happiness and love put into that tree, the smell of fresh pine that lingered.
The baubles all top, an the tinsel all bottom, an the lights stuck in the middle,
Putting the fairy in place, then breaking her fall would have you in fits of giggles.
Telling tales of Santa and singing noel, while you drank your sweet warm milk,
Then adding those chocolates all wrapped in their foil, they looked and felt like silk.
Then looking to your mum when all was finished, for praise of all your hardwork,
And with a big warm hug and a kiss on the cheek, she would tell you what you wanted to hear.
Oh i remember the fun, an the memory's they glow, making me feel warm inside,
Of the laughter an happiness, and the love that shone in those holiday tinsel times.
