I sit within the shadows of my mind,
wondering how I could have let her go
when my heart does still yearn for her so much.
Even though I know I must move on,
there is still that one place in my heart
that is empty, a void within it.
All the tears my eyes have shed,
the anxiety and grief
of not having her in my life.
Oh, how could I have been such a fool
to let her leave?
Now I am alone,
with only the memory of her
to hold next to me on these cold winter nights.
Never again to know
the warmth of such love,
as I did with a woman who was my angel,
my love.

Written from the heart and sould. Very poignant piece. Very sad, yet so well expressed. I think we've all been in this frame of mind before. BRAVO on this piece!

Well, There Is The
possibility she would hear your words of realization. If not, there is only the passage of time to restore balance within. Either way, your offering is truely from the heart.
Best of Luck!
Respectfully,
Silent Hawk

Your words are so heartfelt. I am sure she is missing you too and remembering the happy times. We all have regrets. Tears do wash away the sadness in time and the sun shines again. A beautiful special poem. Thank you for entering it in our contest. This was a pleasure to read this afternoon. Best of luck to you. Take care, Sandy
