She appears amid
a cursed mire
reflecting life
that went awry.
Come to me,
she beckons.
Let me embrace
thee in woe.
With features
of child,
supple,
demonic intent
unforeseen.
Come to me
my love.

Outstanding imagery.. I really love this poem a lot. nothing like an eerie, dark write in the middle of the afternoon.. I really like lines 7 & 8.. excellent take on the prompt.
good luck

This is a creepy take on the picture but well written good luck in the contest best wishes always be well.

let me embrace thee in woe... WHOA. something shocked me when i read those words... the thought of embrace to me has always been one of warmth and security. these words, along with the rest of your poem are perfect with the prompt, and a reminder to me that not all call out with other's best interest.
