Rescue

cry me a torrent of rain
to seep into my cold, stone heart again
and soften the earth
restoring fertility and mirth

if there is light in my soul to be found
reflect it from the sky to the ground
so that I may see
an ember of hope in me

stifle the battle cry
calm the storm of rage
let the earth open her mouth
releasing the souls she caged

and I will come again
when all is still and sane
and we shall forever rest
in knowing that we passed the test

Please tell me what you think

Your imagery...your poems...are always fascinating to me. There is a release...born again...feeling to this for me. Almost like when someone supresses feelings and emotion for a long time and is finally able to just...be.

I will forever admire your insight and perspectives!

I think a lot of people can relate to this poem. Sometimes people need someone to see the good in them and shine it back into their face so they can see and Know it. And it really sets them free! So many people are caged in themselves and let mental gravity pull them down, when they can always access the freedom of their spirits by just knowing the wonder that is in them. It's not an ego thing at all, because it involves gratitude, and there is no pride in that. Then the next step from gratitude is giving, and that's where Love blooms. It's beautiful, isn't it? ♥
Hope to talk to you soon.

    Sounds Dramatic

Well if anything it expresses your current state quite well. Particularly enjoyed the 2nd and 3rd stanzas. Hope you're alright.
