Assimilate Me

    Sweet sterile room of ivory
    slight crack in the wall
      Assimilate me, Assimilate me

    Vertebrae molded now
    to the chrome seating
      Assimilate me, Assimilate me

    Disrupt my skin cells silver,
    morph me with your placebo
      Inject me, assimilate me

    My bleeding lips will smirk
    With treasonous logic.
      (You won't)
      Assimilate me, Assimilate me

Author notes

Uhmm yeah another weird one
I'm not sure if the word "Assimilate" is used very much in everyday vocabulary haha. I'm a history buff, so I hear it a lot with history.

Just in case lol..

Assimilate- to make similar b: to alter by assimilation c: to absorb into the culture or mores of a population or group

My inspiration this time was Korn's "Coming Undone" and "Politics". When I visualized the setting of this poem in my mind, I imaged "Room 101" from the book "1984"

"You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself"

  • Really weird, in a good way, and sort of sci-fi in some strange sense, almost like some sort of robot poetry. A really excellent poem.

This has "metallic" feel/sense to it.
Like some silicon soul being locked away in a robotic amalgamation and force fed synthesized emotions.
"1984", never read the book, but i've seen to film versions of it.
    Great story.

I love Korn they f***ing rock! Fav band pretty much, and seen them more times than I can count...but...not to get of track, this poem is twisted, which makes it all the better I love every line, ever detail painted in it...a remarkable job poetess! My mind can empathetically assimilate to your image you have chiseled here.
    much love and serenity, ocean.
