Surely, you jest,
You’ve done your best?
Look what you have become,
Wrapped up, struck dumb,
dangling on puppet strings,
you fly with paper wings.
You think you have escaped the noose,
but you, You, were too weak to choose.

okay this is interesting,,, at first I thought it was someone using christmas wrapping paper. Then I thought it was a puppet. Not real sure what it is you are describing... maybe a relationship. Dunno for sure. But it is cute. Thanks for sharing this and thanks for placing it into our readers list.

It was for a contest picture and this is just what came to me, perhaps bemoaning a wasted life I'm not sure, just what the picture conjured up. Thank you for your comments, so good to see someone reading poems again.

God, how did you manage to write the biography of George W. Bush
in such a succinct space, that captures the essence of his eight years...lol..otherwise i love the poem~~~Artis
