As my head bobs,
I sway back and fourth.
My hands drum to the beat,
and eyes close as I drift away.
The ballroom appears,
and her dress sways to the music.
Shes gorgeous, shes at peace.
She spins into her own little world.
I walk down the staircase,
longing to take her hand...
But it would disturb her dream,
her peace, her flow.
In the end,
I couldn't resist.
My hand, reached out,
she takes it...
I place my hand above her waist,
she places hers upon my shoulder.
In circular motions,
we sway through the night.
I count my steps,
and watch her eyes.
With one last twirl,
we let go.
Slowly I turn away,
Go back up the staircase,
and turn around to see,
shes still at peace, she still has her dream.
I whisper good night,
and the beautiful song ends.
open my eyes,
and start it all over again.
Author notes
I love the song so She Dances by Josh Groban! So this is based off of that song, with my own little twist.

Lovely! I've heard of that song, though I've never actually listened to it. As I read through the stanzas I was constantly reminded of Rose and Jack from the movie, Titanic, and though that's not what you're writing about, I thought it was sorta eerie that your words resemble so vividly some scenes from Titanic! I used to do a little bit of ballroom dancing, so the things you describe I can easily relate to, so I liked reading this. Thanks for submitting to the contest.
