captivity

Missing image
Imprisoned
behind iron palisades,
awaiting rescue,

enduring stone walls' mockery;
strong,
like she'll never be.

longing to pluck the flowers
whose crimson petals wilt
at her ugliness;

tears feed ungrateful blooms
until stoic stems crumble
to dust.

    Nice job! My fav line..."enduring stone walls' mockery;
    strong,
    like she'll never be."
    Perfectly paralleled!
