Spirit Of The Tree

Missing image
In stately stance her branches reach
so delicate yet strong,
without a word she's there to teach
where nature does belong.

In tune with zephyrs soft and sweet
she sways in harmony,
to those in need she is discreet
keeping secret company.

Winter reveals her naked frame
the snow her icy cloak,
defenceless she awaits the flame
of spring's new hand to stroke.

Then finally she dresses proud
in exquisite finery,
becoming then a shady shroud
nature's own marquee.

Through all season's she shares her grace
a dance in freedom's light,
with fingertips the skies she'll trace
this earth's most sacred sprite.

Author notes

I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge -- myth is more potent than history -- dreams are more powerful than facts -- hope always triumphs over experience -- laughter is the cure for grief -- love is stronger than death.

this is a spectacular piece, well done!! the imagery is amazing, i especially liked:
    "Winter reveals her naked frame
    the snow her icy cloak"
it shows the vulnerability of nature in harsher months as winter, this is extremely well written!! WELL DONE

    Superb plus

Aye, I agree with the comment. Imagery; rhythm, and rhyme are just fine. Your write, reminded me of an old poem, written by Thomas Paine: "Liberty Tree". Here's a link to it:

Are you sure you weren't a tree in a past life because you write so beautifully about them...as if you could hear their thoughts.

    Love Margaret

    LOvely!

Really beautiful, as an ode to the Driad certainly deserves a classic form. I do love the lightness of this, however stately and strong her trunk may be, her seasonal changes are light , feminine and poetic.Having just come in from a walk amid the fallen leaves and acorns, your poem resonates.

    Excellence in positivity...
I breathe in these words feeling them affect
the shadows that have surrounded me of late.
You have fluid rhyme here to convey magnificent imagery and ideals on life. Blue

ps-the only correction I can see would be
zephyrs as the apostrophe is in error as written.
