Research paper thesis: Cloning can be a positive scientific practice for society.
Thesis of Essay #2: There are benefits to cloning.

How many good people are killed daily by incurable disease? How many loved ones are lost to gaping battle wounds, or simple loss of too much blood? What measures are taken to prevent these casualties? Of course there are hospitals and plenty of doctors, and yet these instances are seemingly impossible to cure. What exactly are we missing? I think that we should explore every option we have to help save the lives of these upstanding citizens. There are so many possibilities in cloning. Cloning can be beneficial to society.
With experience and funding cloning can advance. Right now cloning doesn’t get Government funding which limit’s the amount of research that can be done. Surely with help cloning could improve. Who knows the possibilities? They’re endless, and maybe there are uses for cloning that haven’t been found yet because of our limited resources. Right now the success rate for cloning, compared to the recent past, is fairly good. As stated by scientist Lou Hawthorne, “For every four embryo transfers we do we get a clone.”(Beato) With this kind of success rate with private funding think of what could happen with more funding. With more study of cloning there is more and more information about it. The process and actual act of cloning is so misconstrued by citizens. With more practice, more information can be given to the public.
Cloning has actually helped to improve lives already. Scientists can take embryonic stem cells and make them develop into any cell in the human body.(Embryonic) With that kind of technology, we could take cosmetic surgeries to the next level. Burn victims wouldn’t have anything to fear.(“Cloning“) Eventually, scientists will be able to clone actual genes and possibly worm out all those nasty diseases in our family tree.
Or maybe that isn’t what cloning is all about. Maybe it goes deeper than that. How many times has a child cried over their lost pet, their best friend? How many Senior Citizens have sat home, alone and lonely because they lose their only friend? Couldn’t we clone the pets of the owners who are willing to buy them? Animal cloning has been around for centuries: it’s called selective breeding.(Beato) What about the police man who lost his best partner; the best dog on the force? Couldn’t we have one exceptional dog in the force but clone him and have hundreds of the same dog? Scientists can. “I believe that soon, cloning will be as easy as going to the vet with your pup, giving him some DNA, and then mail ordering your new companion.” (Beato) Weather it’s for your long lost loved puppy, or the pet you never had; you have incurable disease or your grandmother does; or you need a new kidney because the donor list can’t get you one in time, cloning can be beneficial to society.
