a breath of air
silently moving
with the tide
collection of leaves
on unbended branches,
eager for truths
where curled lies sit
spark of impatience
ignited by fuel
of distant lover
lost to shadows,
only rigid black
as night falls

I love how your title pulls the reader into the poem as good poetry should. I struggle with this too often.
I loved stanza two. The contrasts of leaf collections on sturdy branches depicts life at a different level. Wonderful images in this.
Thank you. This is just a joy to read.
Beautiful poetry.

Looking for 40 words exactly.
Plenty of time to tweak if you'd like, but oh this is nice.
