They lead lives of quiet desperation,
convincing themselves that their "fair share" is enough,
that only giving will lead them to salvation
and yet they hunger for more.
They call us monsters, devil's victims,
afraid of their desire to be one of us,
afraid of the freedom we embrace,
of the ecstasy of spirit, mind, and body being whole...
They call us the damned,
but it is they who damned us,
forbade to bring light to their darkness.
And we've ceased to care if they see hell's fire burning in our eyes.
Author notes
(1) Make a poem based off of these quotes:
"The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation..."
I will be back to revise this, I am too tired to clean it up now.

Well, for starters, I like it very jmuch. To me, it seems that you took the quote and just ran away with iit. Very different, very unique, very awesome! If you're going to revise it, please do so before the contest is up. God bless!
