Farewell Allpoetry

What makes a poem, the words or the poet?
Why does it have to rhyme, can't it just exist?
And what do you do when you have no inspiration left,
When you find you're slowly pushing your muse away of your own accord?
Is that right, or does that make you wrong?

Well, it doesn't make a difference, does it?
Nothing ever matters in the end.
All that matters is the here and now,
And now I've lost inspiration to be a poet,
And instead turned my attention to a slew of short stories.

So excuse me for leaving with so short of a notice,
But I guess all things eventually draw to a close.
I can't spend my life writing poetry I'm not getting paid for!
It's out with the old, and in with the new,
And as life changes, so do my activites.

I'll come back every now and then to comment,
But don't except much poetry from me anytime soon.
Poetry was a phase for me, one that couldn't seem to last,
So this is my last poem for a while, if you can even call it that.
Continue on your merry way, don't worry about the loss of me.

I hope I made a difference, or at least entertained some people in my time here,
And I hope you won't forget me while I'm gone.
But remember there are better poets out there,
Other poets that will keep you occupied in my absence.
I'm already being replaced in other aspects of life anyways.

I have a new journey to begin, a new path to walk along.
I got a new girl, a new inspiration to find, and a new phase I'm going through.
Maybe I'll come back, maybe not, but I've left my mark.
Thank you for all you have done for me, through the good times and the bad.
I'll miss you, but never forget you -farewell, allpoetry.
