Death by November's Dawn

your words
touched a soul,
showed light where
darkness had resided

you gave meaning to life,
opened pages where
new decisions were made

we penned our own destiny
forgot there were obstacles,
walls that wouldn't crumble
or mountains too high to climb

met on the edge of November,
distance ebbed along with the tide

kissed by emotions
that crashed on beaches,
perfect sunsets gave way
to idealistic dawns

love echoed in shells
held against ears
unwilling to let go

while a heart beats
a slow death,
salt encrusted and silent

    Congratulations on the Bronze Cup!!

Thank you for entering this Internet Connection contest, your heart-breaking poem is very well written. I couldn't find anything in this piece relating to an Internet connection though, but maybe it's just me?!!?
    "we penned our own destiny

or mountains too high to climb"
I suppose this stanza's metaphor could depict a computer relationship, but I'm not sure... At any rate, I'm wishing all the best to you, and I do appreciate you sharing your muse's journey through "the edge of November, distance ebbed along with the tide." This poem is wonderfully written, and very deserving of the award. Congratulations, and thanks again!! Peace always, xx Cyn
