Your face takes up the black sky,
drowning out every star and killing the moon.
The rest of us run and hide below,
trying to get away from you.
You startle us at night
when we forget that we are dreaming.
So we fear to close our eyes again,
for when we do we wake up screaming.
I tuck you away in the corners.
I pretend that I never knew you.
Please don't seek revenge for my ignorance,
if you were me you'd be shameful too.
