Sometimes while deep in thought
I almost feel the touch of your hand
pressing into the small of my back.
Sleeping soundly I wake with a smile
and I can taste the wine of your lips
You dwell in my thoughts most warmly
There can not be a here and now for us
You have a life to live without me in it
Turning into myself I cry for what is not
my eyes close, I see your face before me
the sweet smile twinkles up to your eyes
Silently my wishes take form in the mind
The quiet beach a warm breeze and you
I reach out but you're not there to touch
And my heart quivers a sigh escapes
everything is now returned to my world
alone and lonely without you.

Dejavu,
I think I have lived this one. Enjoyable memories you bring to the forefront of my mind, though bittersweet.
Best of Luck!
Respectfully,
Silent Hawk

This sure describes what I feel. Your words are so sad and full of tender love and longing. You have captured the prompt so well. Thank you for entering our contest. This was a pleasure to read this afternoon. Best of luck to you. Take care, Sandy

Excellent!
This is powerful. It's like a perfectly captured thought
that many have had, or will have. It reminded me of my favorite Dokken song. Best luck in the contest & thanks for sharing this
