Once succulent moment in time
Now withered savory memory it is
The smile behind rosy lips it then showed
Is now bleeding bloody lies
Flower once was blooming to its glory
With supple lips, on soft petals you wrote a story
Dangling on lively green stem
Thorns I could then not see
Floral fragrance then filled the air
Wild excitement dripped from dews
My eves lived the rainbows of love
You wrapped in the silks of pretense
The storm flew by through the dark winds
From bouquet of spring, I picked summer
It lived its short season of victory
And before I could realize, winter had settled in
Once the smiles I’d collected in my jar of memories
Is now broken echoing empty shell
As eyes drip tears my heart remembers
What once was fragrant is now a rotting pictures of you and me
