Quest....ions

What am I here for? Why have I come?
My soul's lost in this hum-a-drum-drum.
I feel I have a purpose,
so much bigger than this,
but I can't seem to reach it,
what signs have I missed?

I know I can stay home,
and provide for my kids.
I know I can get lost,
out there in the winds.
If I just had the money,
I think I'd run away...
Not for forever,
but just for today.
In search for these answers,
that I think I need,
is it too much to ask?
Am I bested by greed?
To think I am special...
That I deserve something more?
I can feel myself dying,
right down to my core.

It appears to me, if I may be so bold, that you have been brushed by the spiritual wind. This is not a call to religion for that is nothing but a structure to keep all the questions from crowding in and make God small enough to not be to scarey.

I would invite you to an adventure. It means stretching the mind, setting the heart free and, most of all, letting the spirit be your central guide. It is not a invitation to the wanton or the spoiled self-centered life. It is simply a chance to let you become as large as the life you want to live in.

There are simple practices. Wake up and start the day finding a thousand things to be thankful for. You may not get to a thousand but you should try each day. Take time every day to find at least twenty minutes to practice breathing. Follow the breath in and feel the diaphragm relax the lungs expand. When they are full follow the breath out. As thoughts arise simply answer them with the statement "thinking" and follow the breath.

Keep a jounal. In it write the blessings you find in each day. Write down your epiphanies. Find someone who you can share with. There is more, much more, for your reading should be a non fiction book for every two or three non fictions and explore, always explore.

I am always open and available. Remember joy is the perfect dynamic expression of love.

May the holidays be rich in wonder and lavish in memories.

    Love,
    Tom B.
