If I could hide away forever, I might...
behind the husky voices covering my thoughts
I would sink deeper into a dark warm place
where my vocal chords remain out of reach
I'd know no speech and never utter a wrong
But when sickness finds saliva scratching down the throat,
ears that don't hear can still feel the itch...
And for all that love's calling out for,
I cough up the human from within
