How can it be
that you and I are so different
yet so very similar.
It is true I guess
that opposites do attract.
However, in our case
I think it could cause
us some problems.
After all,
a kiss from you
could melt me.
And a kiss from me
could put out your flame.
So what can we do
but continue on
loving each other from afar.

There has been a lot of "melting" in this contest. I think I have seen the word "melt" more than the word "fire." That said, I think you have shared some lovely images in this poem that are often true and painful for all of their love.
