The stars bathe in dew,
and I get the leftovers,
as I wait beneath the moon.
One of Cupid's bows,
but without a string,
she stretches out across the sky
and weeps,
her tears, falling to the earth,
falling on me - rearing up,
bursting into flames -
but I'm protected by the stardew
and in a chariot of fire
I ascend
to the right hand of Heaven
leaving behind a comet's tail
and firefly goodbye cards.

I'm not usually very good at "keeping things tasteful..." but this is a seriously beautiful prompt.

Beautiful in its imagery, you do have a way with words that belies your age... keep writing

Very tasteful - title is excellent.
Wonderful imagery in this piece and a lovely story wrapped up in the value of human emotion. How it withstands the heat of broken love only to rise even higher as it learns.
Impressive work here. I am pleased to see one so young writing so very well. Keep up the good work and thank you for such a splendid entry. I loved this. ~Pamela
